to implement iptc caption and keywords is a new feature i discovered since a
month or two in picasaweb and picasa 3

see this bug reports
http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Labs-Picasa-for-Linux/browse_thread/thread/e95a4c62f0b11c93#
http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Labs-Picasa-for-Linux/browse_thread/thread/2face7f6ac177d7a#

i talked to Leiz a google picasa dev by mail
to search where is the pb
leiz made tests with my stills
results : Byline and BylineTitle are a pb

yesterday with experiments i discovered two others items are a pb :

CopyrightNotice
Source

i will sent to Leiz these new datas

if at least one of the items in the list is in the iptc field then the caption
and the keywords do not appear in picasa and picasaweb

addendum :

please
respect the name of the iptc item
the identifier ot the items are iptc language(becareful no space (sure) and
case sensitive (?) ) it's a pb if you use user friendly syntax or else because
it is more difficult to know what we speak about. i suggest in the gui
interface you use friendly user syntax and in parenthesis the iptc identifier
and only iptc identifier in the iptc viewer

For example you use Copyright instead of CopyrightNotice
then when i want to suppress Copyright the exif tool says there is no Copyright
item
