I've just upgraded to the new Gallery 2.2.4 and connected with Digikam
and Kipi 1.1.5 (basically stock Mandriva Cooker setup). Everything
appeared to work fine. I could connect, see a listing of albums etc. I
created a new album and uploaded a test image. Everything worked fine.

If you could open a new bug report (if you've not already done so) with
as much information about your environment as possible that would be
great (perhaps there are some weird issues with e.g. utf8 username or
some something?).
