It shouldn't since into makefile it seems they use viewer
messages: rc.cpp
  $(XGETTEXT) *.cpp *.h -o $(podir)/kipiplugin_viewer.pot

Maybe we can remove kipiplugin_image(s)viewer from the list
:)
