the zoomfactor for rightclick+mousemove was indeed too high, but is ok for the
scrollwheel. I fixed that.
please explain the blank areas a bit more, I can't reproduce it. do you get a
completely black screen?

I'm not doing anything fancy beside using the non-power-of-two texture
extension.
