I have same problem. My configuration:

FreeBSD 6.1-RELEASE
gcc version 3.4.4 [FreeBSD] 20050518
KDE 3.5.3
digiKam 0.8.1_3
kipi-plugins-0.1.0.r1_4,1

dcraw it self works fine.

I checked 'dcrawprocess.cpp' file it has option '-b' but plugin still does not work and give me 'failed to convert'. Thanks.
