again this bug is fixed and it is a duplicate fo  109739,
follow the instructions there: 
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109739#c57
That means that default behavior is the old one, this should change in future.
If the script works it means the plugin is ok and the problem is in yuor digikam configuration.
