[Kde-imaging] kameraklient crashing

Hi there,

I just started using KPhotoAlbum (snapshot) with the kipi plugins. The
kameraklient keeps crashing the main app. I reproduced this also with
released versions of Gwenview and Kimdaba 2.1, so it's a matter of the
plugin. You can find a more detailed decription below.

Is anyone using kameraklient successfully, or anyone having crashes?

I'm somewhat aware of the current discussion regarding the future of
kipi. If someone get's me in the right direction I could try and provide
maintainership of kameraklient. Are there any other takers yet?

Bug scenario:

Fedora Core 4 with recent updates, KDE and kipi from standard repositories
Canon EOS 350D (aka Rebel XT) in PTP mode

gwenview, kimdaba or kphotoalbum calling kameraklient

- kk recognizes the camera
- pressing "connect" results in the progress bar going slowly from 0% to
100%, connection seems to work
- tree view of the camera's contents (OK: the card's contents) flashes
up, kk crashes immediately and takes the calling app with it
