Summary: jpeg compression is way to high
           Product: kipiplugins
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: SuSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: flickrexport
        AssignedTo: kde-imaging kde org
        ReportedBy: mwieser gmx de

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.92)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

When using the flickr export plugin (kipi-plugin) to scale down and upload images the quality of the resulting jpeg files is very bad.

Fo example if I set the option to downscale a image before upload (to 1024px) the resulting jpeg file is very blurry which is caused by the high jpeg compression ratio. This effect especially is visible if the image contains fine structures like a tree in front of the blue sky.

This unnecessarily makes the downscale feature more or less unusable for me and my friends.

Please, please make the compression ratio adjustable (config file; gui is not necessary) or at least tweak it so that the resulting filesizes (and quality) are comparable to those produced by gimp (85%, 4:2:2).

Thanks!
