this is fine by me too. for the next release, it might be a good idea to
upload the source tarballs at ftp.kde.org as well, if so permitted.

btw, most major distributions (or at least the ones that matter) have
already started packaging kipi and they will be almost always be more
maintained than individual contributions. it might be a good idea to
provide links to them directly.
