[Sorry, I was to lazy to split stuff below into a kipi-imaging and
digikam-devel mail]
Providing .bz2 version too may be a good idea.
While poing around in the tar balls:
Most install files are empty (use digikam one as template?)
allee(0) ~/kde/kipi/0.7-beta1 $ l */INSTALL
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 7724 2004-05-05 15:38 digikam-0.7-beta1/INSTALL
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 0 2004-05-09 17:42 kipi-plugins-0.1-beta1/INSTALL
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 0 2004-06-10 13:00 libkexif-0.1/INSTALL
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 0 2004-05-09 17:39 libkipi-0.1/INSTALL
allee(1) ~/kde/kipi/0.7-beta1 $ l */NEWS*
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 20 2004-05-05 15:38 digikam-0.7-beta1/NEWS
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 0 2004-05-09 17:39 libkipi-0.1/NEWS
digikam NEWS misses a final newline. Remove the NEWS file?
../libkipi-0.1/README has no final newline too.
If have not checked if other files miss also final newline.
Hello world is not installed but there are translations:
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 570 2004-07-28 08:22 ../kipi-plugins-0.1-beta1/po/es/kipiplugin_helloworld.po
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 602 2004-06-25 08:17 ../kipi-plugins-0.1-beta1/po/et/kipiplugin_helloworld.po
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 403 2004-06-25 08:13 ../kipi-plugins-0.1-beta1/po/is/kipiplugin_helloworld.po
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 623 2004-07-15 08:42 ../kipi-plugins-0.1-beta1/po/pt_BR/kipiplugin_helloworld.po
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 563 2004-09-01 09:04 ../kipi-plugins-0.1-beta1/po/sr/kipiplugin_helloworld.po
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 433 2004-06-25 08:05 ../kipi-plugins-0.1-beta1/po/ta/kipiplugin_helloworld.po
-rw-r--r-- 1 ach ach 228 2004-06-25 08:03 ../kipi-plugins-0.1-beta1/po/xx/kipiplugin_helloworld.po
xx: Strange, but xx is strange per definition ;)
Seems the xx translation is not complete (I had the impression
that this s/(.*)/xx\1xx/ is done automaticly?

To me vi is Zen. To use vi is to practice zen. Every command is
a koan. Profound to the user, unintelligible to the uninitiated.
You discover truth everytime you use it.
