Good to have someone working again on Tajik translations :-)

branches/KDE/4.0 is currently under release-freeze, and will return to
stable-freeze (no BIC, bugfixes only, only minor string changes) after KDE
4.0.0 is released.

/trunk/l10n-kde4 is currently open for last-minute translation fixes. I`m
going to test the l10n tarballs now and will use the chainsaw for anything
that is broken.

We will branch /trunk/l10n-kde4 to branches/stable/l10n-kde4 when 4.0.0
tagging is finished (estimate tomorrow, 00:00 UTC). From that time on,
scripty will work on branches/stable/l10n-kde4 and ignore /trunk (which is
open for KDE 4.1 then). Separate announcement about that follows.

Greetings,
Dirk

Well, good to know that KDE4 will be released soon.

I just want to make sure that I correctly understand. After migration
completed, so we, who are translating KDE4 trunk branch, have to change the
working directory to /stable/l10n-kde4 in order to maintain and proceed
additional translation for KDE 4.0.x, right?

Meanwhile, the trunk branch will be for KDE 4.1. Please correct me if I'm
wrong.

Thanks,

Sahachart

So there will no longer be a branch for KDE 3.5 translations? Does this mean
that no more translation commits can be made for KDE 3.5, even though code
bug fixes can still be made?

There is still a branch for 3.5 translations (/branches/stable/l10n and
trunk/l10n-kde3) but spending a lot of time on those is really deprecated. We
have to move on, splitting ressources between KDE3 and KDE4 is not getting us
anywhere.

Hi,

I just talked to Albert Astals Cid. There are just 3 documentation
translations for Marble so far.
Given that Marble's documentation hasn't been updated since more than half a
year we'd like to take the weekend to update the user documentation a bit.

We'd mostly

- update screenshots to the current look and feel.
- add chapters about the Legend feature, the flat projection and maybe other
minor stuff.

We don't plan to change the existing text as it still looks mostly correct.
So stuff that has been translated already doesn't need to get redone but just
would need further chapters to get translated.

Any objections? ;-)

Of course I'm talking about the docs for KDE 4.0.1. / KDE 4.0 branch.

Hi,
I'm translating plasma_applet_weather.po in french, and I maybe saw an error.
There are 2 lines (line 1 and line 2) which are the same : "Found
Places". One of them should it not be in the singular ?

No, this is no pural form.

These are just different messages for gettext:
 "Found Places" != "Found places"

No.

But this (misssing content) is true for a lot of other documentations, and
often even worse (e.g. wrong and outdated stuff).

So we need a more general approach to catch up with the all other docs, and to
attract more contributors to the dokumentation team (it is not motivating to
see, that your documentation often doesn't get into the recent release).

To achieve this, my proposal:
- improve the docs in trunk
- backport them on a regular basis, e.g. once a month

This allows translators to work in branch on a non moving target for a fixed
timeframe and to fix all errors in trunk they found while translating in
branch, and docwriters to work continuously imroving the docs in trunk.

Hi All,

Does anyone know a script or program that can parse PO files. For
example to database.
Now we have own parser which parse PO files and insert message into database.
We need both, PO to database and database to PO scripts.

Regards,
Vardan
