Some questions about the translation of the new fundraising campaign

Hi there!

I'm translating the texts for the new fundraising campaign into my language 
and I have some doubts.

Let's start with the headers...

"Invasion of the Project Snatchers” (clearly from “Invasion of the Body 
Snatchers”).
“The Silence of the Lans” (also clearly from “The Silence of the Lambs”).
“The Byte Witch Project” (maybe from “The Blair Witch Project”).
“The Richmond Desktop Massacre” (maybe from “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”?).
“Total (Windows) Recall” (from “Total Recall”).
“Peeping Rom” (this is a little hard, maybe from “Peeping Tom”?).
“Stranger Pings” (from “Stranger Things” TV series).

I understand that the titles of the different sections are adaptations of 
horror/sci-fi (or similar) movie/series titles. I think the idea is great, 
but... In many countries, the titles of some movies/series have been 
translated in a way that has nothing to do with the original English title.

To cite a couple of examples: in Spanish, "Peeping Tom" has been translated as 
"The Photographer of Panic" (or "Three Faces of Fear" in Argentina), while 
"Total Recall" is known as "Total Challenge" (or "The Avenger of the Future" 
in Latin America). Obviously, none of them are suitable for translating this 
text.

My question: is it better to keep the adapted translation of the title of each 
section, even if it doesn't make much sense, or is it preferable to look for 
the title of another film/series that is more suitable to the story they tell?

For example, for "Peeping Rom" (whose Spanish translation has little to do 
with the story of that section in the website), I preferred to use the title 
of another film, "Rear Window" (Alfred Hitchcock, 1954), which in Spanish is 
known as "La ventana indiscreta" ("Indiscreet Window”).

I guess other languages ​​will have this "problem" too.

Another thing... Shouldn't the title "The Richmond Desktop Massacre" be "The 
Redmond Desktop Massacre”?

Finally, although I personally fully agree with the content and expressions 
used in the text, I have chosen to slightly "soften" the translation of some 
of them, while always maintaining their meaning. Personally, I can agree, but 
I must keep in mind that my opinion is not necessarily the same as everyone 
else's. I think I have read somewhere (maybe in our Code of Conduct?) 
something about being respectful ;-)
