This is a minor bug, posieve stats seems to count the number of words
and characters in a different way now. Example:

msgid "One Selected File"
msgid_plural "%1 Selected Files"
msgstr[0] "Éi merkt fil"
msgstr[1] "%1 merkte filer"

Python 2 ‘posieve stats’ reports:

- msgmsg/totw-orw/tot-orw-trch-orch-tr
translated      1    100.0%      3     100.0%      3      14      11

In other words, three English words (w-or) and 14 English characters
(ch-or).

While Python 3 ‘posieve stats’ reports:

- msgmsg/totw-orw/tot-orw-trch-orch-tr
translated      1    100.0%      2     100.0%      2      14      10

So 2 English words instead of 3, but the same number of English
characters (14). However, for the translations, the number of characters
also shrink, from 11 to 10 (and the number of words from 3 to 2).

I think both statistics are wrong. There are clearly 5 (or 6) English words.
