This is what we made the dual-list pattern for (
http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/Usability/HIG/SOU_Workspace/Two_Lists 
), so I think we should use that as a basis.

Of course recommending that pattern via an HIG would mean that it needs 
to be easily available to developers, which afaik isn't the case yet...
