Hi Ronald,
I am the current maintainer of KSudoku.

This is not at all conventional. Every Sudoku app I have seen has a different
look for original numbers and solution numbers. In KSudoku, the behaviour
of the two types of numbers is quite different, too. Not only are the original
numbers "read-only" and not "undoable", but also (a feature I use quite a lot)
if you click on an original number, it becomes the default input number. Then
you can use left-click to copy it into an empty square or right-click to put a "note"
number there. OTOH if you click on a solution number, it changes that number
to whatever the default input number is, which is rather annoying if you do it
accidentally, as could commonly happen if all the numbers look the same.

I am not very active in KSudoku at the moment, being busy in other areas. Nor
do I know what a "Killer" Sudoku is, nor how it is played. However, I am (slightly)
open to persuasion if you can tell me more...
Or, if you have C++ programming skills and a knowledge of KDE and Qt, maybe
I could give you some pointers towards working out your own patch…
Cheers, Ian W.
