[Kde-games-devel] Sound problems in KGoldrunner

Bug 26062 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=260262 is for KDE 4.3
KGoldrunner, but I thought I would just check current KGoldrunner sound
before the KDE 4.6 release.

I have not changed any sound stuff, so it should all work, but for me at
least the performance on sound is appalling! Sounds either do not come
out at all or they come out seconds after the related action on-screen.

Do others get this problem with KGoldrunner in KDE 4.6?

If so, should I disable KGoldrunner sound completely before the
KDE 4.6 release?

I have neither time nor knowledge of the sound libraries, so I would have
no other course. And this is a showstopper as far as I am concerned.

I have been out of touch and have done no rebuilds for several months,
not since about 30 June. KDE Help on my build says Version 4.5.60
(KDE 4.5.60 (KDE 4.6 >= 20100627)) and Qt version is 4.6.2.

So maybe more recent versions of KDE/Qt make the problem go away
or maybe I mis-built Phonon. I seem to remember some confusion about
which Phonon is the "real" one (KDE or Qt) and how to build it.

Ideas anyone?
