0-4?

a zero convex piece could be, for example, a NorthWest corner piece that 
connects to an edge piece below with a North convex and an edge piece to the 
right that has a West convex.

random notes:

* i'd love to see a jigsaw puzzle thing (they are great for kids, and are lots 
of fun with motion sensitive devices like wii-motes)

high quality hand designed jigsaws often even have pieces in the shape of 
identifiable objects, e.g. a duck, key, bucket, etc .. not that one needs to 
go that far though ;)
