Hi Thor,
I've been out of touch with kdegames development myself too. As far as I know, 
nothing has (yet) happened on the svg card front... I suppose it's 4.2 
material now. But what did you find out? You make me curious...

Yes, I wrote the wrapper as a simple perl script... but the technique mostly 
involved adding a single file to the card directory. Actually, I've 
discovered inkscape could turn the file + png cards to a single file with 
embedded pixmaps, which could be useful on its own...
