FYI... a first snapshot for the upcoming GGZ release. In addition, the new
kggzcore library is making progress. It will make it possible to write GGZ
core clients for chatting, launching games and controlling all online gaming
aspects easily.

It will be moved into libkdegames once its class design has been finished and
there is a slight chance I (or someone else) finds the time to actually write
a new client for it to substitute KGGZ (the old KDE 3 client).

The GGZ Gaming Zone Project is happy to announce an important milestone
on the way to GGZ 1.0: One year after GGZ 0.0.14 was released, a
snapshot for developers is now available, comprising some of the base
components of GGZ:
* libggz 0.99.1
* ggz-client-libs 0.99.1
* ggz-txt-client 0.99.1
* ggz-server 0.99.1
Those four packages make up about one third of the GGZ codebase. Later
snapshots will add additional packages, especially for development in
C++, Python and Ruby in addition to C. In addition, GGZ libraries are
included with KDE 4.0 and GNOME 2.20 and will soon offer more online
gaming facilities for free desktop games.
The snapshot series information page is available at:
http://www.ggzgamingzone.org/releases/snapshot/
The changes so far in the four packages is summarised in the NEWS file:
http://svn.ggzgamingzone.org/trac.cgi/browser/trunk/ggzd/NEWS
Packages can be downloaded already from:
ftp://mirrors.dotsrc.org/ggzgamingzone/ggz/snapshots/
Meanwhile, critical bugfixes continue to be backported to the stable
ggz-0-0-14 branch in SVN, which is still the recommended version for
distributions.
