[Kde-games-devel] Boson installer

Hi
for quite some time we (well, me mainly) have been working on a boson (see
http://boson.eu.org) installer with a precompiled boson binary.
Most libraries are linked in statically, so that it does not depend on them
being installed on the system.

In theory you should be able to run boson on any system as long as X is
installed (neither Qt nor KDE required).
Our tests have been working pretty well so far, however we are now at a point
where we need additional machines to test it.
You can find the installer at
http://boson.eu.org/download/static/boson-0.11pre-x86.run

It would be great if you could test the file and let me know whether it works
on your system or not. It would be nice if you could tell me a bit about your
system as well (distribution, XFree or X.org, graphic card/card driver, CPU).

All you need to do is to download the package, install it and run the program.
Additionally it would be nice if you could also start a game and tell me
whether it works normal (as in "usable") or slow like hell (meaning there is
a problem with OpenGL).

Please reply either to this list, to boson-devel at lists.sourceforge.net or send
a private mail to me, whichever you prefer.

CU
Andi
