Not sure if my observation belongs here as I am not using Wayland at all.
But after a recent upgrade involving Qt and Plasma version bumps, I also see
a/the weird issue related to color themes. The issue appears to be related to
accent color somehow.
Some items appear as white text on very light gray backgroud, barely legible
obviously.
Previously everything was okay.
I noticed that if I change accent color from its default to a custom color then
the problem goes away.  It does not matter which exact accent color I use.

FWIW, strings in the accent color selection drop-down are truncated to the
point of being useless.  But that's probably an upstream issue.
