Bugzilla Automation <bugzilla at FreeBSD.org> has asked freebsd-kde (group)
<kde at FreeBSD.org> for maintainer-feedback:
Bug 295310: sysutils/plasma6-ksystemstats memory leak
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=295310

--- Description ---
Overview:
sysutils/plasma6-ksystemstats memory usage continuously grows since it is
started (apparently without limit; even 1.5GiB of ram in my experience).

Steps to Reproduce:
Just start sysutils/plasma6-plasma-systemmonitor or add a monitoring widget to
the desktop or to a panel, ksystemstats will be automatically started.

Actual Results:
It starts with about 45MiB of resident memory usage, then slowly grows. This
behavior is independent by the number of wigets used; even if all the widgets
are removed (and with systemmonitor not in use) memory usage grows.

Expected Results:
Memory usage should settle instead of growing continuously.

Additional Information:
I tried creating a VM with the same FreeBSD and Plasma version to test in a
clean environment, and the leak happens as well.
For comparison, on KDE neon with the same Plasma, KDE Frameworks and Qt version
the problem is not present.
As a workaround I actually pkill it every two hours, so it restarts and doesn't
grow memory usage too much.

System info:
Operating System: FreeBSD 15.0
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.26.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2
Kernel Version: 15.0-RELEASE-p8 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Memory: 15.8 GiB of usable RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa IntelĀ® HD Graphics 4600
Manufacturer: LENOVO
Product Name: 20AW0002IX
System Version: ThinkPad T440p
