Reproducible with 15.0-RELEASE-p4 on AMD64 in QEMU on the same host (Kubuntu
25.10). 

A lazy guess: might this be another symptom of timerfd bug 293368 in base?

I'll test 16.0-CURRENT on aarch64 in QEMU with: 

- non-base packages up-to-date

- base packages intentionally outdated (to avoid kernel panics; 
  <https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-current/2026-March/009987.html>).
