I thought this might be down to different 'backing store' selection I
think it's called (might be wrong though).
I don't know what's in overall control of it, it's sometimes the $TERM
but the way I'd describe it is there's some programs one can select
text in then shift insert into another term to paste but if instead
one right clicks highlighted text in some other program to copy,
shift insert will paste the previous 'just selected' buffer
but right click to paste pastes the right clicked highlight IYSWIM.
yeah it can be confusing :D
