An issue with this approach (as seen) is that it's easy getting it wrong
causing inconsistencies by defining both CMake's nobs and USE_C*STD and/or
trying to use one overriding another (likely unintentionally). We could of
course add checks they would need to be quite extensive and/or time consuming.
