Issues with kio_smb in KDE4

Hi,

I'm running KDE4 from the main ports on FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASEp1. I've been 
using the kio_smb plugin with Dolphin for ages to move files back & forth 
between my desktop and my Blackberry Playbook. A little while back it just 
stopped working. Looking at tcpdump traces it starts a tcp connection and then 
just stops. 

I tested the Playbook using Total Commander on my Android tablet; no problem. 
I installed samba44 on my FreeBSD box and tried smbclient; no problem.

Any thoughts on what I can do to troubleshoot this? Dolphin is far more 
convenient than smbclient.
