Only a couple of ports need modern compiler, they require gcc46 at least.

I've updated the instruction, check UPDATING from area51.

There's a bug in kdemerge script, it removes the content of Mk/Uses directory.
You need to backup it first and restore files after merging, until the kdemerge is fixed.
