Maybe the patches are worth incorporating into our Qt ports.

Ok, with some guidance/input from Qt techs, patches have been accepted for
Qt/4.8. The links are:

You may need a a Gerrit account to see/get them. They have not actually been
merged yet-- Qt would like them ported to Qt/5 before merging to Qt/4.8.
Hopefully, the Qt/5 port can be done within a week or two..

Patch 13465 is the most relevant to the issue here (and likely the only one
needed to fix it), patch 14627 obviates the need to use single-shots for
certain deletelater() calls in taskmanager code, and 13468 fixes 'possible'
corner cases similar to 13465.

I can supply the current patch versions if anyone wants them, but for those who
need to be more formal, I guess the above Gerrit links are the way to go.
