FreeBSD has default clang 3.0, llvm 3.0 which was last time update to 3.1. 
LLVM has options:
ASSERTS
DOCS which is built with and
LTOPLUGIN

What I were doing before Krita crashed? Nothing. I just to try open Krita and 
it crashed.
I don't know if is helpful but I use Gimp, Inkskape without problem. LibreOffice 
3.5 (all programs) works without problem.
KDE version is 4.8.4 and I don't have problem but wherever I start KDE there 
are 3 zombies which hone when I close KDE:

72349  ??  Z    0:00.01 <defunct>
72350  ??  Z    0:00.01 <defunct>

I will try to build Calligra again...
