[kde-freebsd] kompmgr broken... what to do?

hello,

I just installed FreeBSD 7.4R and trying to install kde3 (old PC, 512Mb 
of ram) from a fresh (last night) port... the kompmgr is maked broken... 
kde install is blocked.

Is there a bypass possible?

can I go back to an option screen to deactivate this feature or is it 
mandatory for the build?

Am I stuck with no kde3 until the port is repaired? and if so, an idea 
of how long?
