could you give us the output of

`ls -laT /usr/bin|grep gcc`

and also can you send us the CU features which get reported? (dmesg -a)
i think core2 only gets enabled with native, if sse3 was detected. maybe
freebsd isn't properly detecting sse3 support for your cpu.

i'll rebuild gcc later on and check whether i experience the same issue.
