I have a Sony USB digital camera that creates two devices when I plug it in.
The first one da0 is the main file storage and da1 contains software for the
camera. I noticed when I upgraded FreeBSD from 7.2 to 8.0-RC1 that da0 would
not show up in Dolphin but da1 would. HAL was not picking up da0 for some
reason, but I could mount it manually. It worked just fine under FreeBSD 7.2
with KDE 4.3.1. I then upgraded to 8.0-RC2 and now da0 appears as a fixed
drive rather than a removable one and da1 shows up as a removable drive.
This is better than my first scenario, but I did have to edit my
PolicyKit.conf to allow myself to mount fixed disks.

I reinstalled all of my ports after doing the FreeBSD upgrade. So the same
versions of the ports that worked under FreeBSD 7.2 do not work right under
8.0. Personally, I think there is something wrong between HAL and FreeBSD
8.0. What that something is I really have no clue.
