I've reinstalled hal/policykit/consolekit and nothing has changed.
Strange thing is: I have a second HDD that has FreeBSD and Windows and if I
mount one of those slices/partition then the remaining pop-up under the
Devices plasmoid (this has always been the case) however my attached USB-
device is still not detected.

I might upgrade to qt46rc1 and try again. What version of FreeBSD are you
running?

I also cleared etc/[hal|PolicyKit|ConsoleKit] when reinstalling those ports
and again nothing changed.
