this was solved by doing:
mkdir work/qt-x11-opensource-src-4.5.1/src/phonon

The other thing also holds true, you need qt-phonon 4.5.1 for qt4-webkit 4.5.1 
to find the phonon library.

In another mail Max advised me to remove the older version of dbus-qt4 first, 
before building the new one, and that worked!

kdemerge exists in trunk, not in the branch we were told to check out in this 
CFT

qt4-designer:
- Remove previous version first
- mkdir work/qt-x11-opensource-src-4.5.1/src/phonon
