Hello,

Last night I got finally installed the master port kde4; concerning
sound on 7.0R I really don't know how to enable this in detail and I've
found no real documentation about; after Googling around I've enabled
in /etc/rc.conf:

hald_enable="YES"
polkitd_enable="YES"
dbus_enable="YES"

and it seems that 'dbus' is running (it complained about missing user
'haldaeon' but it came up), 'hald' itselfs exits with 1, perhaps of
missing config files or as well missing user 'haldaeon';

I've also read that I should put:

eval `dbus-launch`
export DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS DBUS_SESSION_BUS_PID

into ~/.xinitrc;

does someone has a pointer to a documentation about this in 7.0R? I've
had a look into the files the port 'hal' is installing, but found nothing
usefull;

thx in advance

	matthias
