		Please ignone this request.  I finally by-hand 
		re-symlinked the missing font libraries and typed

		make install.

		New files have been compiling for hours, so maybe I'll
		have kdm back in time.   (( Be nice if gdm had all the
		features of kdm ... but can't have everything :-| ))
