[kde-freebsd] OpenPGP/MIME on Kmail

Hi,
I'm using FreeBSD 6.2. Does Kmail require gpg-agent in order to be able to use 
OpenPGP/MIME as the preferred cryptographic message format? When not using 
gpg-agent, if I try to open an OpenPGP/MIME encrypted message, I'm not 
prompted for a passphrase. I just get an error message that decryption 
failed...bad passphrase. If there is a way to get kmail to be able to use 
OpenPGP/MIME without using gpg-agent, please describe the steps taken to set 
it up. Thanks.
