About digiKam + DigikamImagePlugins + libkipi + kipi-plugins, we have started
to talk about QT4/KDE4 port but it will be a long job. Personnaly, i think
than a port of all will require around 5-6 months, without using advanced api
features (porting the code as well in fact).

We have planed to do it later digikam 0.9.0-RC planed during this week, but i
think than current KDE3/QT3 source code need to be let's in trunk because all
contributors, translators work with it. digiKam 0.9.0-final is planed to
Christmast, not before. I would have the current implementation as well at
least the final release date. It will be more simple...

Also KDE4/QT4 is not yet available easily for all developers under all linux
box to port applications (this is my case under Suse10.1 and Mandriva 2007).
I'm agree with Seb, all QT4/KDE4 ports must be done in a separate branch.
