A new year, a new release. digiKam 0.7.1 is out for your image management
pleasure.
New Features:
---------------------------------------------------------------
* Unified Image properties dialog - with separate pages for file
information, EXIF and Histogram
* Threaded histogram calculation for better responsiveness
* Navigation of albums (based on navigation history) using forward
and back button
* Faster and more responsive thumbnail loading
* Auto album creation using date based album names while downloading
photos from the camera.
* Load and display image formats which imlib2 doesn't support, but kde
does
* Generate thumbnails for raw images using Dave Coffin's dcraw tool
* New standalone photo viewer named 'showFoto' for kde using digiKam's
image viewer canvas
* New commandline option "--detect-camera" to detect connected cameras
and to launch the camera window on startup
* New Aspect Ratio Constrained Crop plugin
* Free Rotation tool is now a plugin and has guides to help with rotation.
* Updated manual and translations
Fixes:
---------------------------------------------------------------
* Respect kde cofiguration for single/double click
* Regression fix - users lucky enough to have a camera which indicates a
file downloaded status, will get a new item emblem on the items which
haven't been downloaded yet
* Replaces qiconview in camera window with custom iconview for sensible
horizontal selection and to eliminate flicker
* Default option for printing is "Scale image to fit paper". Optimize the
print data generation operation
* Red Eye correction tool is always enabled. A passive popup will inform
users what to do get the tool working
* New backend for USB Mass Storage Cameras instead of relying on gphoto2's
dummy camera driver. All files on the camera (as specified by file extensions)
can be browsed using this new interface
* Plenty of other minor ones
