Slowly getting there, see attached screenshot :)

Performance is actually ok once it's up and running, but there are some nasty 
rendering glitches when rotating the screen to portrait mode, that's likely 
lower in the stack though, not Plasma's fault.

I still have to fix the PAM configuration for this to work out of the box, 
then I should be able to provide you a test image.
