New Contributor

Hey everyone,
I'am an undergrad Btech student in Computer Science and Engineering from
Amrita University. I have been contributing to Falkon Project(KDE) for past
6-7 months. Now I thought of taking up Labplot as the new project for work
upon. I read about Labplot and it interested me a lot as it used for
interactive graphing and analysis of the scientific data). I completed
building the development environment too. I skimmed through the
bug-reports, and I plan to work on this bug:

Can anyone give me some pointers about how to start up with this feature
fix?
