  Interesting way to introduce a guiding error with the simulator: pause the VM for a few minutes while the Scheduler is capturing. This will cause a hop in the position of the guide star, and the guider will abort.
  
  With that differential, the Scheduler aborts the job so isn't stuck, but cannot recover and loops trying to restart the aborted job. More information later.
