you forgot to actually add the knsrc file :)
it's been a while since I looked at the GetHotNewStuff stuff, so things are quite a bit outdated here, i.e. most backends lack a corresponding category.. You can go ahead and add python and R, but first you would need to ask to have them added on kde-files.org, as it doesn't make sense to add options if there is no counterpart on the server.
