I found, that

...
    "name": "KLettres",
    "parent": "kdeedu",
    "repository": ["git", "klettres"],
    "icon": ["own", "src/hi{size}-apps-klettres.png"],
...

seems to work. Please recognize the additional "parent"-line (it is for
the correct "Browse KLettres source code on Git" link on the devel page)
and the comma at the end of each line.
