Thanks a lot.
I have changed the code according to your proposal (patch attached).
Compiles and runs fine and message extraction with kde-xgettext gives now all 
missing strings (11 fuzzy and 8 untranslated).

Please review. Ok to commit?

P.S. 
What to do with the other #define.*I18N_NOOP("foo"), where the message 
extraction with kde-xgettext does not work:
