Beside private mail you could of course also use IRC or Instant messages (most 
developers are available on Jabber and/or ICQ, I am cniehaus at jabber.org for 
jabber).

Well, then there is the possibility to vistit fairs like the LinuxTag in 
Germany or many many other fairs all around the world. KDE is represented on 
most of the important ones.
