You should have a look at KBruch (http://edu.kde.org/kbruch) and perhaps 
KPercentage (http://edu.kde.org/kpercentage). There are also some planned 
projects (KMathCenter, KMathTool, KTimes) whose current status i don't know.

All these projects don't aim the very basic operations with integers. Only 
KTimes, which handles with multiplication tables, is very near to your idea.
So go on and perhaps use some ideas from the listed programs.
