John, as for KSystemLog, I agree with you on this - the enforced light mode is
blinding. However, I think the issue is likely to have different roots here -
no pun intended. See, not many graphical apps run as root, but KSystemLog is
one such app. Root is considered to be a different user, and so anything they
run will normally not follow the normal user's configurations. Perhaps you will
be able to tweak the colours of KSystemLog by making modifications within
/root/.config instead?

Alternatively, Journald Browser (aka. KJournald Browser) is a QML take on the
same thing as KSystemLog. It is great in many ways, though it seems much less
feature complete than KSystemLog. However, if it fits your use case, you might
prefer it better, as it follows your system colour scheme.
