I have created an MR, but I also think I have found a solution.  I  
changed the original
  <imagedata fileref="tag-new.svg" format="SVG"/>
to
  <imagedata fileref="tag-new.svg" format="SVG" depth="1em"/>
although I may try making that amount a little larger.
