Disabled kcmshell5 joystick Restore Defaults button

Hello,
i am running ubuntu 18.04 LTS and kcmshell5 5.12.8 and i cannot reset or
restore settings to default because the buttons are disabled like in the
attached picture. what ca i do about it?
